Known Issues

Here is a list of problems Kleki has received reports on. Some of them would benefit from your help so they can be fixed more easily.

When you report a bug please keep this in mind: You should clearly mention the steps to reproduce the bug. Do not assume or skip any reproducing steps. The bug which is described Step by step is easy to reproduce and fix. A vague bug report can make it very hard to reproduce and fix the issue.

Glitching after switching tabs

Where: Chrome on ChromeOS (and Ubuntu) on certain machines
Glitching occurs each time after switching tabs. It expresses itself though: This bug only seems to happen on certain old Chromebooks, and rarely in Ubuntu Linux. I have not been able to reproduce this yet, despite testing on a 2018 Chromebook. More testing will be done soon on a Chromebook with "Intel HD Graphics 400", same as all the computers that experienced this issue.

The bug has also been reported to the Chromium team: Issue 1309876: CanvasRenderingContext2D deletes parts of image after switching tabs

Kleki freezes during longer session

Where: in Safari on iPad or Mac
A number of reports say that Kleki freezes after using it for a longer time (maybe 20 minutes). I've yet to reproduce this issue, and it's not clear if this only happens on older Apple devices. If you encounter this bug, from which year is your device?

Random refreshes

Where: most browsers
Modern browsers will refresh tabs suddenly when they decide the computer is running low on resources and do take no measures to secure the user's data. This can also happen to data stored in IndexedDB (used for "Browser Storage"). Please understand that Kleki is not refreshing the page, it is the browser.
